Donna C. Aker, (Brown), 67, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at her home in Fort Wayne.
Born in Dover, KY, she was a waitress with the Rib Room on East State and a former waitress at Halls Guesthouse, Marriott and Cafe Johnell. She was an avid collector of cow memorabilia.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Lourdes) Aker of Pahrump, NV, Marcy (Leslie) Gaerte of Columbia City, James (Michele) Aker of Kettering, OH, David Aker of Fort Wayne, ; sisters, Marjorie (Jule) Hale of Leo, IN, Connie (Tom) York of London, KY; brother, James W. Hale of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Carolyn Walker, Ashley Aker both of Fort Wayne, Adam Aker, Josh (Jen) Willis, Krystal Kreusch, Donna C. Aker all of Kettering, OH, Robert Aker, Ricardo Aker, Rachel Aker, Rylan Aker all of Pahrump NV; and 9 great-grandchildren and her former husband & life long friend, Howard J. Aker of Fort Wayne. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Brown in 1994; and parents, James W. & Elizabeth E. Hale.
Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. Rev. Russell Riley Officiating. Calling 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
